jaletta. - "way down"

A warm and comfortable track, "way down" showcases jaletta.'s smooth, Snoop-esque brand of rap, let loose with a casual abandon atop warbling, detuned chords as a vinyl record sample crackles in the background. The half-sung melody of "I've been way too high for a while / you can catch me trying to find my way down" (1:35) is lethargic; like the rest of the track, it's a line that is content sitting back, taking another drag, taking its time. A hazy tune befitting the smoke-tinged rooms it was likely borne from, and an effective collaboration between two like-minded artists who should continue to build off one another.
